Excellent lightweight close quarters line

Great for delicate close range presentation, very little disturbance on landing, I couple it with a fairly long leaders well and this further reduces the line signature on delivery. Borrowed the long leader bit from Dave Southhall, saw him use it to great effect.

Stuart Croft dry fly line 3#

Excellent. I have a number of Sunray lines now and without doubt they all perform superbly.
Definitely my go to lines.
The Stuart Croft is perfect for my local Derbyshire waters.
Many thanks.

Stuart Croft’s dry fly line

I recently purchased one these lines in a 4wt Line weight. This is the best line I have ever used. I fish in the wind a lot and used to leave my 3/4wt Rod in the car. Not any more. This line is so thin and so slick it casts extremely well in the wind. I have recently fished it in 20+ mph winds and was casting consistently 40 - 50 feet directly into the wind. I just wish they made this same line in some of the heavier weights up to at least 8wt. This is a great product.

Stuart Crofts Micro Thin 1 weight line

This winter I've been using the Stu Crofts 1 weight line with 7' of taper (0.45mm to 0.2mm) cut from a 12' tapered leader & an extra 5' of 0.09mm tippet plus size 24 to 30 Buzzers & CdC midges for close to medium range fishing on my local small still water with my 10' 2 weight & 12' 3 weight rods. This combination has proved to be perfect: it loads the rod well: it lands with minimal disturbance & when coated with line slick makes mending the line to avoid drag easy. I usually use the Jeremy Lucas 1 weight line but have found the Stu Crofts line loads the rod better at close range.

Not bad

I was fishing this line for a week, roll casting and overhand casting. I have a progressive action mid flex 8ft6 4wt fly rod. Overhead casting this line shoots like a dream, roll casting from one side of the bank, after 4hrs the line was twisting as if it was nylon line put on the reel incorrectly.

Myself and a friend had the competition 2020 line, which somehow cracked all over the fly line coating, almost like a cracked earth visual effect. I'm wondering if this and the line twist are connected?

The line casts well, lands gently, handles furled leaders like a dream. Just not sure how long it will last.

Stuart Crofts dry fly with overhang marker

Initially the line wasn't good at close range loading on small streams with dry flies , but I've got used to that problem !!!! I feel it doesn't cast as well As my old line , but is great and very delicate for long range dry fly presentation !!!!

Overall a good line , was expecting more on a pricey fly line but that life I guess . Not as good as the old Wychwood presentation line I had on before it !!!, I'll keep it on my reel for a couple of seasons because it cost good money , but otherwise I won't purchase another one !!!!!! And I fish small streams a lot in Herefordshire and the Welsh borderlands , so a good fly line is a must for me !!! Thanks very much Joe Alexander.

Micro thin on Cane Rods

Having recently made a couple of #3 Cane rods, one 6ft and another 7’3”, I decided to try the SC #3 line on them, having been using a Royal Wulff TT3 previously.
I’m really pleased with the results the SC is giving-matches the Cane Rods really well, and casts like a dream, allowing great control, even at close range. I definitely recommend this line.
