50m spools

Hybrid is superior quality copolymer nylon monofilament, coated with a micro thin layer of fluorocarbon. The 2 bonds of materials combine the high performing characteristics of both materials.

Strength / Diameter Copolymer is easy to knot but loses up to 20% of it's strength when wet. The fluorocarbon coating maintains the wet strength of the tippet which means you can fish a tippet up to 20% thinner than you could if you used pure nylon. Fishing a thinner tippet means that you can fish smaller flies, more naturally and spook less fish.

Light reflection Light reflecting off the clear surface of tippet spooks fish. Hybrid has a very slight grey tint which reduces light glare by 60% which results in more fish hooked.

Abrasion resistance Fluorocarbon is more abrasion resistance than nylon but is also a little stiffer. Combining nylon and fluorocarbon creates a supple but robust tippet material that will not break when fishing over snags. Essential when nymphing is boulder strewn rivers.

Knots Pure fluorocarbon is very hard to knot. Heat builds up and snaps the tippet. Nylon is very easy to tie. Combining the 2 materials means you can benefit from all the features of fluorocarbon but still tie knots very easily with cold / wet hands.

Stretch Fluorocarbon stretches less than copolymer. Hybrid stretches less than pure copolymer because it is coated with fluorocarbon.

Fly Rod Warranty

This guarantee is limited to the Original Purchaser and is not transferable to future owners. If during 3 years of the original purchaser, the rod should break or fail, for whatever reason, simply return the rod, invoice, sales receipt, or proof of purchase and we will replace the rod or damaged/faulty part by return.

If within the first 36 months from the date of purchase the failure is due to a manufacturing fault or material defect, then our normal manufacturer’s guarantee will apply and the rod or part will be replaced free of charge, with the relevant handling/postage fee returned. Fees will apply if the failure was due to user error.

Should the rod in question be discontinued it will normally be replaced with a new model up to a similar value, or there is the option to ‘trade up’ to a rod of a higher value, by paying the handling/postage fee, plus the difference in value between the two models. Please note however, that in the case of discontinued models, if purchased in a clearance sale, the maximum value covered by this guarantee is the price paid and not the original RRP.

S'n'S leaders

Hello all and everyone from Norway!

I haven't been able to fish with these leaders too much yet, but I've got about 20 days, so about a hundred hours or so.

I tried a few different things,
1: didn't stretch it, that resulted in it working like a leader from most other companies after they have been stretched.

2: stretched it, it lays straight and it works rather nice through the wind.

3: I didn't come with a perfection loop, so had to make it myself. The knot holds surprisingly well, it doesn't curl up near the loop from pulling it together

4: nail knot, it makes the leader be what it's supposed to be. That slim and perfect nail knot gives a new meaning to flyfishing for those who hasn't tried it.

In the beginning I had a feeling, oh shit, is this gonna hold up with carp and trout? BUT, it most certainly does. And I really enjoy using it, especially since it can be spooled on a tiny reel over a week without having to stretch it again compared to others.

The only thing I want Sunray to consider is to make a tippet for the 6X also. I'm hunting 1-3kgs trout with 6X and a 2wt glass, so it would be really great with a new tippet size also. Btw, I'm using Sunray tippets also

Best regards,

Frank

Does what it says on the "tin" lovely presentation and turnover . Perfect for reducing micro drag by casting an Ariel mend when using small flies .
